Job summary

Peninsula Behavioral Health in Port Angeles is looking for a Medical Assistant-C Certified (MA-C I) to support nursing services by providing clinical care, medication support, and routine testing primarily for clients with behavioral health needs. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe treatment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including observation, vital signs, and clinical support.
• Administer medications (oral and injectable) and monitor for side effects.
• Collect patient history, perform medication reconciliation, and document visits.
• Perform in-house testing (e.g., EKG, phlebotomy, urine screening) as ordered.
• Process prescription refills and prior authorizations.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and prescribing systems.
• Collaborate with providers, pharmacies, and care teams.
• Support medication services in clinic and residential/respite settings.
• Educate clients on medication use and self-administration.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality laws and agency policies.
