Job summary

Pandya Medical Center - Johns Creek, GA is seeking a capable Medical Assistant to support Providers in delivering high-quality patient care. The role blends clinical duties with administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow, precise documentation, and a well-maintained clinical environment.

The ideal candidate has an accredited MA program and current CMA or RMA certification, plus a 2-year MA track record and current BLS.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current CMA, RMA, or equivalent certification per state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical MA experience.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical procedures under supervision.
  • Assist Providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, conduct intake, and document vitals in the medical record.
  • Provide patient education as directed.
  • Review and file reports, laboratory results, and documentation in the chart.
  • Maintain exam rooms by stocking supplies, preparing instruments, and sterilizing.
  • Manage incoming calls, take messages, and respond to patients and pharmacies within scope.
  • Triage and route messages to Providers in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clinical logs and perform routine safety checks.
  • Comply with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Lead or Office Manager.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant supports Providers in delivering high-quality patient care by performing clinical and administrative duties under supervision. This role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a well-maintained clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical procedures under the supervision of the Provider.

  • Assist Providers during patient examinations and procedures.

  • Escort patients to exam rooms, conduct patient intake interviews, and accurately measure and document vital signs including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature in the medical record.

  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the Provider.

  • Ensure all relevant reports, laboratory results, and documentation are reviewed, filed, and available in the patient’s medical record prior to appointments.

  • Maintain exam rooms by stocking necessary medical supplies, preparing instruments, and ensuring proper sterilization procedures are followed.

  • Manage incoming telephone calls by taking accurate messages and responding appropriately to patients, physicians, and pharmacies within scope of practice.

  • Triage and route messages from patients and front office staff to Providers in a timely manner.

  • Maintain required clinical logs and perform routine safety checks, including refrigerator temperature logs, emergency medication checks, expired medication monitoring, oxygen tank checks, and sterilization fluid changes.

  • Comply with all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Lead and/or Office Manager.

Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required per state regulations.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical MA experience in a medical practice
