Women's Health Connecticut is seeking to hire a Full-time, Certified Medical Assistant at Women's Healthcare of New England in Norwalk!

Position: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: Women's Healthcare of New England
Address: 761 Main Avenue. Suite 100, Norwalk, CT 06851
Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00a- 5:00p
Reports to: Practice Manager

Position Summary:As the Certified Medical Assistant you will work alongside a successful and dynamic team of Providers to support the clinical needs of the center. The Medical Assistant position also supports the Front Office with administrative tasks, as needed, and will be cross-trained to be a valuable member of both the front and back-office teams.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for taking patients’ vital signs, height, weight, and urine specimen and inputting values in EMR system
  • Responsible for obtaining/updating patients’ chief complaint, allergies, medications, and medical history and transferring that information into the patient’s EMR chart
  • In charge of prepping/stocking the exam rooms for patient visit/procedure
  • Accountable for cleaning exam rooms and tables in-between patients
  • Process orders and package specimens to send out to the labs
  • Scheduling and obtaining prior authorization for patients’ radiology appointments
  • Sterilization of instruments in the morning, evening, and after patient procedures
  • Effectively triage patient calls in a timely manner
  • Maintain OSHA compliant lab utilizing protective personal equipment, completing OSHA logs, sterilizing medical equipment, and working in a safe manner at all times
  • Obtain patients’ medical records from another provider on request
  • Cross train and cover at the Front Desk, and on phones, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/qualifications:

  • CMA or RMA required.
  • Scheduling and/or front desk experience, a plus.
  • Must have previous Ob/Gyn or Women's Health experience.
  • Must be proficient on a computer and familiar with EMR.
  • Required flexibility to travel between offices, as needed.
  • Comfortable talking to patients and addressing concerns.
  • Ability to calmly handle stressful situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate well.
