Role Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant assists in providing clinical care to patients under supervision and offers clerical support.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.
  • Assist with patient preparation for physician visits and examinations.
  • Record patient's vital signs and update medical charts.
  • Operate and care for special medical equipment appropriately.
  • Perform EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab tests as evaluated and trained.
  • Maintain and file patient records accurately.
  • Support collections and billing procedures as needed.
  • Utilize computer software for office management.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respond to patient needs, considering their specific backgrounds and communication levels.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to organizational standards and competencies.
  • Lift, push, and pull minimum weights as specified; stand for at least 1 hour daily.
Qualifications
Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective interaction with diverse populations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of computer processes and data entry
Preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent certification
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) Certification
