Job summary

Novant Health's Heart and Vascular Institute in Matthews is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical teams. You will prepare patients for visits by taking vitals, performing EKGs, and updating medical histories to ensure accurate records and smooth patient flow.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification (or ability to obtain within six months), and a state driver license if applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current State Driver's License (Palliative Care Only) required.
• Experience in a medical office preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete skills validation and competency testing.

What We're Looking For

• Education:High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
• Experience:Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
• Additional skills required:Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
