Job summary

Novant Health in Mount Pleasant, SC seeks a professional to coordinate care in a busy medical office. You will support providers, ensure accurate documentation, and help deliver compassionate patient experiences.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, and CMA/CCMA/RMA/ARMA certification or eligibility within 6 months. Previous office experience is preferred; drivers license may be required for certain duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification from CMA/CCMA/RMA/ARMA required or to be obtained within 6 months.
• Experience in a medical office preferred.
• Must have current or obtain within 6 months a CMA/CCMA/RMA license and a valid state driver’s license for Palliative Care (where applicable).
• Must pass department-specific skills validation and competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with providers to ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective care.
• Assist with scheduling, patient prep, and documentation.

What We Offer

What You'll Do

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
    • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
    • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
    • American Allied Health (AAH)
    • RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
    If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
• Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
• Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
