Job summary

Ascension seeks a Medical Assistant in Carmel, IN for a full-time, on-site role in a multi-specialty setting. You will assist providers with examinations, record vitals, prepare exam rooms, and handle administrative tasks to keep the practice running smoothly.

The minimum requirements include a BLS certification within 1 month of hire and Medical Assistant credentialing within 3 months. This position offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within Ascension's network.

• Medical Assistant credentialed or registered within 3 months (90 days) of hire. Certification or registration accepted.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments and procedures under supervision.
• Clinical & Administrative Flow: Prepare treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment, and manage basic materials ordering and stocking to ensure operational efficiency.
• Accurate Documentation: Interview patients for medical history, accurately chart information, and transcribe provider orders for lab tests, radiology, and medications.
• Front-Office Management: Handle clerical duties, including answering calls and maintaining organized patient records to support a seamless practice flow.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Certified or Registered both accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
