Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and Missouri regulations.
• Verify resident identity prior to medication administration.
• Accurately document medications, treatments, dosages, and administration times.
• Observe residents for medication effectiveness and report changes in condition to the licensed nurse.
• Monitor residents for adverse medication reactions.
• Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
• Follow infection prevention and infection control procedures.
• Assist residents with care needs as appropriate within the scope of certification.
• Maintain medication cart organization and security.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, and healthcare team members.
• Follow facility policies and all state and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing supervisor.

Position Summary

The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) safely administers medications and treatments under the supervision of a licensed nurse while providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
