Job summary

Diversicare Healthcare Services, LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Certified Med Aide/Tech to support nursing staff with medication administration and resident care. You will work under the supervision of licensed nurses to safely pour, pass, and document prescribed medications and to monitor residents’ responses.

Qualifications

• Must have completed state approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or state certification.
• Must be willing to abide by state agency restrictions.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications under licensed nurse authorization.
• Organizes duties to pour, pass, and document routine medications.
• Documents all PRN medications according to State Standards.
• Observe and report medication reactions and side effects to the licensed nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to medications that could affect vitals.
• Administer and document prescribed medications after preparing them and record in the resident's chart.
• Count narcotics and document on narcotics sheets as directed by the charge nurse.
