Job summary

Diversicare Healthcare Services, LLC is seeking a Certified Med Aide/Tech to join our dynamic team. Under the supervision of licensed nurses, you will administer medications, document administration, and monitor residents according to state standards.

Qualifications

Must have completed state approved school of medication administration.
Must carry current acknowledgment card or state certification.
Must be willing to abide by restrictions placed on his/her job by state agency.
Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

Administers PRN medications after authorization by the nurse or physician.
Organizes medication duties to pour, pass and document routine meds.
Document all PRN medications according to State Standards.
Observe and report reactions or side effects to the licensed nurse.
Take and record vital signs before medications that could affect vitals.
Administer and document prescribed meds after preparation and in the resident’s chart.
Document medications in the resident’s clinical record.
Administer oxygen during emergencies and notify the nurse afterwards.
Count narcotics as directed by the charge nurse and document accordingly.
