Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program

Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications under supervision. The role includes training new staff, handling inventory, and participating in process improvements.

Eligible for the Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program with $5,000 in commitment incentives over two years. State employment with UNC Health offers onsite work in the Pharmacy Pediatrics unit, with evening schedules and competitive hourly pay

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• Registration with NC Board of Pharmacy or enrolled in a PharmD program.
• Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, compound, and dispense medications under supervision of a Pharmacist.
• Prepare sterile, oral, topical, and controlled substances medications as authorized.
• Document pharmaceutical activities and patient billing with accuracy.
• Respond to customer requests for pharmacy services and information.
• Operate automated dispensing systems to supply patient medications.
• Restock inventory and manage expirations.
• Assist in training new staff and contribute to process improvements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for medication storage and inventories.
