Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• Active pharmacy technician registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire; must obtain PTCB/NHA certification within 24 months unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
• Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, compound and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Deliver exchanges of medications to patient areas and return unused meds to the pharmacy.
• Document pharmacy activities including patient billing and quality control using automated/paper systems.
• Respond to and triage customer requests for pharmacy services.
• Operate automated dispensing technology to supply medications per orders.
• Order, receive, restock, and rotate inventory; manage expiration dates.
• Contribute to process improvement projects.
• Complete regulatory compliance inspections of storage areas and inventories per USP797.
