Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Oklahoma seeks a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to lead upper-extremity rehabilitation, evaluate patients, and develop individualized recovery plans.

You will design and fabricate custom orthoses, supervise students and assistants, collaborate with surgeons and therapists, and guide post-surgical and injury rehabilitation while maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license; Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential; CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and establish plans of care.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Provide education on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopaedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Treat post-surgical and injury rehab including scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation.
