Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist to deliver specialized hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation in an outpatient setting in Oklahoma. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and fabricate custom orthoses while educating patients on care and precautions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with hand surgeons and therapists, leadership of assistants and students, and attention to documentation and outcomes across post-surgical and injury rehab scenarios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy is preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license, CHT credential, and CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions; educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions; provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehab.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals; participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
