Job summary

Norman Regional Health System seeks a Certified Hand Therapist to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and lead orthotic fabrication and therapy sessions in an outpatient setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, a CHT credential, and 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab. Collaboration with hand surgeons and therapists is essential, with opportunities for leadership and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Current state PT or OT license.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• 3+ years of upper-extremity rehabilitation/outpatient therapy.
• Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document Delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
