Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Lawton, OK is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to deliver specialized rehabilitation of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and fabricate custom orthoses.

Join a collaborative team of hand surgeons, physicians and therapists; provide perioperative and post-surgical rehab, education on orthosis use, wound care, and return-to-work goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or OT degree preferred; OT program graduate.
• Current state OT or PT license; CPR/BLS current.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments; establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to hand/upper-extremity patients.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care and precautions.
• Treat post-surgical and injury rehab; scar management, edema control, wound care, return-to-work rehab.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
