Job summary

Chimney Cricket & Hometown Hearth in Media, PA is seeking an experienced Gas Fireplace Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair gas fireplaces and vented appliances. You will deliver exceptional customer service and ensure work is completed correctly the first time.

The ideal candidate holds an NFI Gas Specialist Certification, has 3+ years of hands-on experience with gas hearths, and demonstrates strong troubleshooting, safety, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• NFI Gas Specialist Certification is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience servicing gas hearth appliances.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain gas fireplaces, gas inserts, gas stoves, gas log sets, and direct vent appliances.
• Perform annual maintenance, cleanings, safety inspections, and operational testing.
• Troubleshoot ignition systems, pilot assemblies, valves, blowers, controls, venting systems, and electrical components.
• Verify installations meet manufacturer specifications and applicable building codes.
• Perform gas leak testing, combustion and draft evaluations, and appliance safety checks.
• Explain findings, repair options, and recommendations to customers.
