Job summary

Petco is hiring a Dog Trainer to advance its mission as a Pet Health and Wellness company. You will lead one‑on‑one sessions, group classes, and provide tailored guidance to pet parents on training goals.

As part of the role you will pass Petco’s 6‑week Dog Trainer Instructor Program, maintain records, and collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to deliver holistic care and health solutions for pets and families.

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care, training, and welfare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds.
• Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one training sessions and group classes.
• Offer advice on training, environment management and plans.
• Sell appropriate training classes and supplies.
• Maintain records of training progress and feedback.
• Collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams for holistic care.
• Ensure guest experiences and merchandise are aligned with needs.
