Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is looking for a dedicated Petco Certified Dog Trainer to advance Petco’s mission as a Pet Health and Wellness company.

You will provide one-on-one and group dog training, offer expert guidance on nutrition and supplies, and work closely with grooming and veterinary teams to support holistic pet care. You will guide pet parents through the training journey, attend a 6-week training instructor program, and help grow the dog training business with high-quality service

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care and welfare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with pet parents and provide clear instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to handle dogs of all sizes safely.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays to accommodate training schedules.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class dog training services including one-on-one sessions and group classes.
• Recommend and sell appropriate training classes, and supplies to pet parents.
• Maintain accurate training records and progress notes.
• Collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to offer holistic health solutions.
• Complete training programs to maintain expertise and industry knowledge.
• Engage guests to recommend merchandise and services based on needs.
