Job summary

Petco is hiring a Dog Trainer to enhance pet health and happiness through modern training methods and positive reinforcement. You will run one-on-one sessions, group classes, and tailor plans addressing specific goals while guiding pet parents on nutrition and essential supplies.

Your role supports our “Pet Health and Wellness” mission across our Pet Care Centers. You will participate in the six-week DTIP program and collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with pet parents and provide clear instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to handle dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds in a safe and humane manner.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and store operations.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to accommodate training schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide world class dog training services including one-on-one and group classes.
• Sell appropriate training classes, equipment, and supplies to support training goals.
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions and progress.
• Work with grooming and veterinary teams to provide holistic health solutions.
• Provide 360-degree solutions for guests by recommending merchandise and services.
