Job summary

Petco in the United States is seeking a dedicated Petco Certified Dog Trainer to enhance pet health and wellness through modern training methods and personalized sessions. You will conduct one-on-one sessions, lead group classes, and offer guidance on training goals, nutrition, and essential supplies.

You will engage guests with tailored recommendations, maintain records, and collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to deliver holistic pet care and exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care and welfare with strong enthusiasm for training.
• Excellent communication to explain instructions and selling techniques.
• Able to work with dogs of various sizes safely and humanely.
• Strong organization to manage multiple training tasks and schedules.
• Availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• Physical stamina to stand and lift training equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Experience using computer systems to track training and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group dog training services using positive reinforcement.
• Sell recommended classes, training, and supplies to pet parents.
• Maintain accurate training records and progress notes.
• Collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams for holistic care.
• Complete DTIP training milestones and ongoing education.
