Job summary

Life Care Center of Elyria is seeking a Food Services Director who is a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the food services department for high-quality nutritional care. The role requires ensuring compliance with laws and Life Care standards and overseeing staff and budgets.

Responsibilities include menu approval with the RD, staff supervision, nutrition documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support patient care.

Qualifications

• CDM or State approved course in food services.
• Current certification as a Certified Dietary Manager in applicable State. Must maintain an active certification in good standing throughout employment.
• One (1) year experience in post acute care food service.
• Minimum two (2) years’ supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Test cooked food for taste, temperature, and smell.
• Ensure menus are served as written and approved by Registered Dietitian.
• Plan and direct food service staff to prepare and serve high quality food on time and at proper temperature for meals and snacks.
• Recruit, select, train, counsel, and supervise food service staff.
• Complete nutrition documentation timely and accurately.
• Participate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings involving nutrition.
• Effectively manage and operate within budget.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.

Education

CDM or State approved course in food services

Current certification as a Certified Dietary Manager

One year experience in post acute care food service

Minimum two years’ supervisory experience
