Job summary

Golden Rose Care Center in Pasadena, California seeks a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our food service program at a skilled nursing facility, ensuring high-quality meals, food safety, and compliance with regulations. You will supervise dietary staff, manage inventory and training, and collaborate with administrators to meet resident needs.

Requirements include a CDM or CFSM designation, ServSafe certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least 1 year in SNF dietary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree or higher in food service management or hospitality preferred.
• Current ServSafe certification required or must become certified within 30 calendar days of hire.
• Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Service Manager designation required.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility as Dietary Director.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the food service program at a single site, ensuring compliance with policies and federal/state requirements.
• Provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met.
• Maintain records of income and expenditures, food, supplies, personnel, and equipment, and provide reports to the Administrator on such.
• Ensure facility has sufficient supplies and takes periodic inventories of supplies and materials.
• Train new employees, recommend dismissals, and act as liaison between building occupants, client managers, and administrators.
• Communicate effectively to provide all directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to staff.
• Perform essential job functions of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher positions for purposes of training and assisting when there are call-outs.
• Conduct training, quality control, and in-servicing staff to company standards.
• Serves as a department head and conducts themselves and their department in a professional manner.
• Attends various meetings and completes patient assessments of dietary needs.
• Responsible for hiring, scheduling, evaluating, and conducting disciplinary actions for all dietary staff.
