The ideal candidate has CDM credentials, ServSafe, and at least one year as a Dietary Director in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• CDM certification is required.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Associate degree or higher in Food Service Management or related field preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• At least one year of experience as a Dietary Director in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the food service program in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Provide leadership to ensure food quality, inventory control, food safety, and strong customer service.
• Maintain records of income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment; provide reports to the Administrator.
• Hire, schedule, evaluate, and discipline dietary staff.
• Attend meetings and complete dietary assessments for residents.
• Train new employees and conduct ongoing training using QCIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the food service program in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations
• Provide leadership to ensure food quality, inventory control, food safety, and strong customer service
• Maintain records of income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment; provide reports to the Administrator
• Ensure adequate supply levels and conduct periodic inventories
• Train new employees, monitor performance, and recommend disciplinary actions when needed
• Serve as the liaison between residents, staff, administrators, and management
• Communicate directives from administrators and management to dietary staff
• Perform duties of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher when needed for training or coverage
• Conduct ongoing training, quality control checks, and in-servicing using QCIs for documentation
• Serve as a department head and maintain a professional environment
• Attend meetings and complete dietary assessments for residents
• Hire, schedule, evaluate, and discipline dietary staff

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree or higher in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field preferred
• Specialized training in foodservice management and nutrition preferred
• Current ServSafe certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) required
• At least one year of experience as a Dietary Director in a Skilled Nursing Facility
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
