Responsibilities
  • Oversee the food service program at a single site, ensuring high food quality standards, inventory management, food safety, and customer service.
  • Adhere to facility menus, federal, state, and local regulations, and HCSG policies to provide quality dining services.
  • Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
  • Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; perform roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
  • Communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators effectively.
  • Ensure safety by using protective gear, handling cleaning solutions properly, and reporting equipment needs or malfunctions.
  • Follow infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures.
  • Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of tasks.
  • Represent HCSG positively through courteous interactions with staff, clients, residents, and guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality; coursework in food service or restaurant management preferred.
  • Two years of experience in food production/service and supervision preferred.
  • Obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) certification within first 14 days of employment.
  • Obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and LTC-FSM certifications within first 60 days.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and effective communication skills.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring standing, sitting, bending, and walking.
  • Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
  • May need to complete sanitation and safety courses.
  • Residency within the service area required.
