Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to prep patients for exams, position them, and perform the imaging with accurate documentation. You will correlate findings with reports from referring physicians and ensure optimal equipment setup for quality results.

The role requires a valid DMS credential (ARDMS/CCI), a vocational/technical diploma, and 1–3 years of experience, plus BLS certification. You will operate and calibrate equipment and follow ADA-related duties in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical diploma required.
• Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification required (ARDMS or CCI).
• 1-3 years of technical experience required.
• BLS through the AHA required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for ultrasound exam and position on examination table.
• Obtain pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports for correlation with ultrasound exam.
• Explain procedures in layman’s terms to relieve patient anxiety.
• Set up equipment and adjust settings to assure accurate results.
• Recognize structures, differentiate artifacts from pathology, determine need for further exams.
• Observe patient during examination and report condition changes.
• Document and label images; maintain logs of exams performed.
• Perform minor repairs and calibration checks; troubleshoot equipment.
• All duties as required under ADA.
