Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking a skilled ultrasound technologist to perform diagnostic imaging with patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating sonography equipment, interpreting images, and coordinating with physicians for accurate diagnoses. You will document findings, maintain equipment, perform routine calibrations, and ensure safety and quality standards are met for high-volume exams.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
• Current RDMS certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed. (ARDMS or CCI required)
• 1-3 years of technical experience, required
• BLS through the AHA, required

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for ultrasound exam; positions patient on examination table according to SOPs.
• Obtains pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports for correlation with the ultrasound exam.
• Consults with referring physician regarding patient history to determine the appropriate exam.
• Sets up equipment and adjusts machine settings to ensure accurate results.
• Observes patient during exam and reports any changes in condition.
• Documents image details and maintains logs of exams performed.
• Performs minor repairs/calibration checks and troubleshoots equipment as needed.
• Performs related duties as required; essential functions per ADA.
