Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
• Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification required, ARDMS or CCI preferred.

• BLS through the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for ultrasound exam; positions patient on examination table according to SOPs.
• Obtains imaging and diagnostic reports for correlation with ultrasound exam and consults with referring physician.
• Sets up equipment and uses machine settings to assure accurate results.
• Recognizes normal vs. pathologic findings and determines need for further evaluations.
• Observes patient during examination and reports any condition changes.
• Documents image details and logs exams performed.
