Job summary

Acv-Auctions is seeking a Certified Condition Report Writer to inspect customer vehicles at receipt, document condition with VCRs, and prepare for in-lane and online sales. You will photograph and record data, communicate with staff to resolve issues, and help maintain a secure, compliant auction environment.

The role requires clear attention to detail, at least 1 year in the car auction industry, and the ability to work on the auction lot all day. Valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of car auction industry experience required.
• Demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with buyers, sellers, and staff.
• Attention to detail and ability to verify vehicle information accurately.
• Familiarity with auction procedures, terminology, and documentation.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Must be able to work in an auction lot setting for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting vehicles at receipt.
• Document vehicle condition by completing Vehicle Condition Reports and taking photos.
• Communicate effectively with management and staff to ensure a smooth auction experience.
• Ensure compliance with auction procedures, safety guidelines, and policies.
• Perform related duties including locating/moving vehicles and starting/jump-starting as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for:

The Certified Condition Report Writer completes vehicle condition report to identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems.

What you will need:

• Identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at time of receipt; interior, exterior, odometer reading, trunk area, engine compartment, noting any damage or repair to frame, paint or other, engine noise, AC/heater operation, radio, tire condition, etc.
• Document vehicle condition by completing appropriate Vehicle Condition Report (VCR), taking digital pictures and computer data entry in a timely manner, preparing for in lane and online sales.
• Communicate effectively with management and other staff members to facilitate a seamless auction experience and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with auction procedures, policies, and safety guidelines, taking necessary actions to maintain a secure working environment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned including but not limited to locating and moving vehicles, starting and/or jump-starting vehicles, etc.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
