Responsibilities

• The Certified Coder analyzes clinical and demographic information to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes in accordance with guidelines.
• Reviews medical records to assign diagnoses and procedures for outpatient encounters.
• Applies coding guidelines per regulatory and organizational standards.
• Identifies documentation gaps and initiates queries for clarification.
• Resolves routine coding edits and manages coding queues to ensure timely resolution.
