Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Central Sterile Technician-KP SPD Day Shift (37.5 hours) to manage instrument carts, sets, peel packs, and supplies, delivering them to surgical suites and supporting decontamination, testing, and assembly of sterile packs.

The role emphasizes adherence to infection control, inventory and quality assurance; on-site training; high school diploma and CBSPD certifications required (CRCST/CER/CFER), provisional acceptable, plus strong communication and basic computer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CBSPD CTS certifications (CRCST, CER, or CFER) are required or provisional acceptable.
• Provisional certification is acceptable with 400 hours of hands-on training before expiration.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, disinfects and tests instruments and equipment.
• Delivers instrument carts, par level carts, and sterile packs to surgical suites.
• Operates and updates the instrument tracking system.
• Performs quality assurance processes and documents results.
• Maintains inventory of medical disposable goods in sterile processing area.
• Supports infection control guidelines during transfer, storage and transport of sterile packages.
• Assists in sterilization processes and packaging of major surgical instruments.
