Job summary

NYU Langone Health is a fully integrated health system with a strong focus on quality and patient outcomes. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Central Sterile Technician on the KP SPD-Evening Shift (37.5 hours).

The successful candidate will decontaminate, disinfect, test and assemble instrument sets, manage supply inventories, and support continuous quality improvement. Certification in CBSPD or equivalent is required, with provisional acceptable timelines and hours to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CBSPD CRCST, CER, or CFER certification; provisional acceptable.
• 400 hours of hands-on training required before provisional certification expires.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of decontamination, disinfection and cleaning methods.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs and documents quality assurance processes, and random sampling of products according to protocol.
• Incorporates infection control guidelines during transferring, storing and transporting sterile packages.
• Effectively enters, modifies and searches information in the instrument tracking system.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization processes, documentation and delivery of sterile packages.
• Demonstrates knowledge of major surgical instruments preparation and assembly, inspection and packaging.
