Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Central Sterile Technician for KP SPD on the Evening Shift (37.5 hours). The role involves managing instrument exchange carts, decontamination, disinfection, testing, assembling mobile patient equipment, and stocking supplies.

You will support surgical suites with timely delivery and participate in quality improvement. Qualified candidates should hold a CBSPD certification (CRCST/CER/CFER) or equivalent, with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CBSPD CRCST, CER or CFER certification required; provisional acceptable.
• 400 hours of hands-on training required before expiration of provisional certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of decontamination, disinfection and cleaning methods.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs and documents quality assurance processes, and random sampling of products according to protocol.
• Incorporates infection control guidelines during transferring, storing and transporting sterile packages.
• Effectively enters, modifies and searches information in the instrument tracking system.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization processes, documentation and delivery of sterile packages.
• Demonstrates knowledge of major surgical instruments preparation and assembly, inspection and packaging.
