Job summary

Ventura County is seeking Building Inspector I-III to inspect residential and some commercial structures for compliance with state and local codes. Qualifications

• Two years of inspector or journeyman construction experience.
• ICC inspector certification preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors and in office.

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential and some commercial structures for code compliance.
• Explain codes to the public and issue notices of correction.
• Maintain accurate permit and construction support files.
• Perform simple plan reviews for minor additions (II) and complex inspections (III).
