Job summary

The City of The Colony is seeking an experienced Building Inspector to join our Development Services team. You will review residential and commercial construction plans, conduct on-site inspections, and enforce state and local codes with integrity and professionalism.

Requirements include Texas inspector licenses and ICC certifications; strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems; and the ability to communicate clearly with contractors and the public.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of residential and commercial construction codes and ordinances.
• Experience in plan review, field inspections, and enforcement actions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and building permit record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans and codes for residential/commercial projects.
• Inspect sites to verify compliance with City codes and ordinances.
• Coordinate plan reviews with various departments and prepare reports.

Texas Plumbing Inspector License

ICC Certification (Commercial Building Inspector)
