Job summary

WesleyLife in Iowa offers an Aide in Training role designed as a pathway into Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training. This position provides hands-on experience while preparing for CNA training once the program is available, with paid training opportunities and support from a collaborative care team.

You will assist residents with light personal care, housekeeping, and activities, while learning infection control, safety procedures, and how to work closely with nursing staff to promote

About the Role: Aide in Training

This role is hired as a Hospitality Assistant and designed as a pathway into Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training. CNA training is anticipated but not guaranteed within a specific timeframe. Team members in this role gain hands-on experience while preparing for a future transition into CNA training once program availability is confirmed.

As a Aide In Training, You Will

• Engage with residents through light personal care, casual conversations, games, and social activities — help create a warm, home-like environment.
• Hands-on variety in your day: assist with housekeeping, laundry, and light grooming tasks that make a real difference in residents’ daily lives.
• Supportive team environment where you collaborate with nursing and care staff to ensure residents feel respected, clean, and cared for.
• Opportunities to build meaningful relationships — be a familiar, friendly face that residents and families come to trust and appreciate.
• Safety-focused workplace with full training on protective equipment, infection control, and emergency procedures to keep everyone secure.

Qualifications

• Strong respect for seniors’ independence and good communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain privacy.
• Flexible and willing to attend training and meetings.
• Willingness to retain your Certified Nursing Assistant License within 90 days of hire.
• Commitment to obtaining your CNA license within 90 days (paid by WesleyLife!)

Compensation & Flexibility

• The starting pay rate will be based on years of experience.
• Shift Differentials: 2nd Shift-$3.00/hr, 3rd Shift-$4.00/hr and Weekends-$1.00/hr
