Job summary

Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a Process Engineer for the Auburn manufacturing operation. You will collaborate with Engineering, Production and Maintenance to improve manufacturing methods and support product/process development, tooling design and operator training.

Responsibilities include leading product and process development, translating drawings into instructions, designing tools and fixtures, and driving continuous improvement to increase equipment uptime and overall performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Ceramics, Mechanical Eng, or 5+ years of ceramic experience.
  • 2+ years in manufacturing, including metallization, materials science or assembly.
  • Experience using SolidWorks and knowledge of project-management processes.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and familiarity with metrology/instruments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge desired.
  • PM certification, MasterCAM programming, machining practices and ceramics machining desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust manufacturing processes with customers, vendors and Production.
  • Lead product and process development and test new products.
  • Review drawings and specs; translate requirements into manufacturing instructions.
  • Design, document and implement new tools, fixtures and production aids.
  • Train operators on new/existing processes and equipment.
  • Facilitate team-based problem solving and gather data for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor equipment OEE and identify uptime improvements.
  • Support quality, safety, productivity and performance initiatives.
  • Evaluate and reprioritize work to meet changing production and customer needs.
