Job summary

Materion Corporation is seeking a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency in a capital equipment heavy environment. You will collaborate with supervisors and operators to troubleshoot, design, install, and commission new production equipment while training operators and ensuring compliance with safety and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of experience in metals manufacturing or related environments.
• Knowledge of process controls (HMI screens, operator interface) to optimize manufacturing equipment efficiencies.
• Proficiency in cost estimates, schedules, and technical reports.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Team with supervisors and operators to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Troubleshoot and improve existing production equipment on the factory floor.
• Engineer, design, install, and commission new production equipment and train operators.
• Evaluate input from factory floor observations and cross-functional teams to solve complex machinery issues.
• Prioritize and complete engineering activities to optimize machinery design and performance, safety, and cost.
• Evaluate suppliers and supervise contractors for project completion.
