Job summary

BrightStar Care seeks a Chief of Staff to act as a strategic partner to the CEO and a connector across the ELT and Board. The role translates priorities into action, maintains the CEO’s operating cadence, and ensures initiatives move from decisions to adoption with clear ownership and measures.

Expect ownership of board preparation, executive communications, and cross-functional risk management. A Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA a plus; base salary ranges $175,000–$225,000 with bonus

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive professional experience in Chief of Staff, management consulting, private equity, or related fields.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities with ability to structure ambiguity and evaluate tradeoffs.
• Ability to manage multiple complex, deadline-driven initiatives across teams without formal authority.
• Strong business and financial acumen linking strategic, financial, and operational factors.
• Executive presence and judgment to work credibly with CEO, ELT, Board, and partners.
• Exceptional written and verbal communications, including for C-suite or Board audiences.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and push for clarity and accountability.
• Natural ability to anticipate needs and connect dots across the organization.
• High curiosity, discretion, and bias toward action.
• Experience in private-equity-backed, franchise or multi-unit healthcare or distributed environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive alignment and execution across enterprise priorities with clear ownership and milestones.
• Maintain a consolidated view of active strategic initiatives and resolve where off plan.
• Drive follow-through from decisions to execution and tracking of commitments.
• Surface risks and gaps early and coordinate leaders to resolve them.
• Own CEO operating cadence: agendas, prep, priority reviews, decisions, follow-up.
• Lead end-to-end Board preparation and reporting with CEO briefing materials.
• Synthesize issues, clarify tradeoffs, and prepare topics for leadership discussion.
• Triage requests to determine CEO involvement and routing to owners.
• Lead or support cross-functional analyses and high-priority initiatives.
• Support enterprise planning and the Annual Operating Plan and Owner's Conference.
