Job summary

Adagio Health in Pittsburgh seeks a visionary President & CEO to lead, inspire, and govern a growing nonprofit health system serving western Pennsylvania. The role reports to the Board and drives mission, strategy, fundraising, and organizational performance to expand access to care and health equity.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of executive leadership in nonprofit healthcare, public health, or related field.
• Proven success in fundraising and donor cultivation.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive growth.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing complex budgets and grants.
• Deep understanding of women’s health, reproductive care, and access for underserved populations.
• Knowledge of Medicaid and third‑party payer arrangements and health policy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand service impact, funding streams, and geographic reach.
• Lead fundraising and diversification through donor cultivation, grants, and major gifts.
• Attract and retain clinical and administrative talent and foster a positive culture.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and nonprofit governance.
• Oversee multi-site operations including medical offices, WIC centers, and programs.
• Build coalitions with healthcare systems, government agencies, and community groups.
• Advocate for women's health and health equity at local, state, and federal levels.
• Serve as spokesperson in media and public forums to elevate the organization's profile.
• Partner with the Board on governance, transparency, and succession planning.
• Collaborate with the CFO to manage budgets and diversify revenue for financial health.
