Job summary

Octave is seeking a Vice President, Chief of Staff to advise the CEO and translate priorities into clear plans and results. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work across the company to align leaders, shape decisions, and move important work forward in a fast-paced, global SaaS environment.

This senior leader will set the CEO’s agenda, connect strategy with execution, and navigate board communications while building trust with the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Experience working closely with a CEO, C-suite executive, or executive leadership team.
• Experience in a software or SaaS business, ideally in technology, industrial technology, or digital transformation.
• A record of delivering results within an operating company, not only in an advisory or consulting role.
• Experience with Board activities and executive communications.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in strategy, business operations, organizational transformation, or related field.
• Willingness to think broadly and do the detailed work needed to get things done
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Good judgment and the confidence to disagree, challenge directly, and maintain strong working relationships
• Ability to manage several priorities in a fast-paced environment with integrity, discretion, and professionalism
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work outside traditional business hours when needed
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, management, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Translate strategy into action and set the CEO’s priorities.
• Keep company goals, OKRs, owners, and milestones aligned and on track.
• Follow up on the CEO’s priorities and close gaps across teams.
• Lead quarterly business review (QBR) preparation with executives.
• Support Board preparation with the Corporate Secretary, CFO, Investor Relations, and other owners by gathering input and shaping the story.
• Set focused meeting agendas for the CEO and ensure follow-up actions.
• Make sure decisions have clear owners and timelines.
• Help the CEO and senior leaders raise and resolve issues quickly.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and extension of the CEO.
• Prepare concise briefings and materials to help the CEO make decisions.
• Represent the CEO in key meetings when appropriate and drive follow-up actions.
