Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Full-Time Scheduling Personnel to support our patients and care teams. This role involves coordinating appointments and ensuring accurate scheduling while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

Schedule: Full-Time Days (40 hrs/week)

What You'll Do
  • Scheduling Personnel support Freeman Health System patients and care teams by coordinating appointments, verifying and updating patient information, and ensuring accurate scheduling in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • This role serves as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and internal departments, providing timely, courteous service while protecting patient privacy and supporting efficient clinic/hospital operations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent or minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service, call center, medical office, or healthcare-related administrative experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally by phone, in writing, and in person.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including ability to learn scheduling/registration software and use standard office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Requirements
  • Previous healthcare scheduling experience in a clinic, hospital, or multi-specialty environment.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and/or scheduling platforms.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and common diagnostic/procedural visit types.
  • Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorization workflows.
  • Bilingual skills (as applicable to patient population).
