Job summary

Mercy Health in Boardman, OH is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (Central Sterile) to support decontamination, assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments in the Central Sterile department.

The role requires attention to sterilization standards (AAMI, JCAHO, CDC) and involves on-call availability, inventory management, and adherence to infection control practices. High School diploma and CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification within 2 years preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification due within 2 years of hire.
• Experience in a surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean and process surgical instrumentation per manufacturer instructions.
• Inventory, stock, label and deliver supplies across the facility.
• Document activities and maintain quality assurance for sterilization procedures.
• Operate sterilizers and ensure aseptic packaging and testing.
