Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Central Service Technician to support sterile processing for the OR and procedural areas. Duties include decontamination, sterilization, packaging and distribution of instruments under supervision.

Minimum one year of instrumentation experience or completion of a Central Service program with full certification is required. Candidates must meet the on-call requirement within 45 minutes of campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of instrumentation experience OR completion of a Central Service vocational program with full Central Service Technician certification.
• Central Service certification required within one year of hire.
• Basic computer knowledge and good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and give/receive constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of reusable surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes per manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core.
