Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.

This role also handles sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment and collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to ensure instrument sets and case carts are ready.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program required.
• In lieu of CST certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience required.
• 3 years of Central Sterile experience required or no experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment; collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts and maintains workflow and customer service.
