Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our perioperative services. You will sterilize, assemble and store instruments and medical supplies, ensuring adherence to safety standards and timely case preparation.

The role collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts, supporting workflow and delivering superior service in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• GED or higher education required as a baseline.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program or CST certification preferred.
• Alternative: 3 years of Central Sterile experience in lieu of CST certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterilization standards for instruments and supplies.
• Assembles, sterilizes and stores medical equipment and supplies.
• collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts.
• Maintains workflow and delivers superior customer service.

Responsibilities

Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
