Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain sterilization standards for instrument sets and supplies. You will collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to ensure timely provision of sterile sets, equipment and carts.

This role supports workflow and customer service in a fast-paced surgical environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, and either CST certification or 3 years of central sterile experience; CST or CCST certifications are

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Tech required.
• In lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Work Experience

• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
