Job summary

UCI Health seeks a Central Sterile Technician to handle decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies across the hospital and clinics. The role includes charging and logging services for the OR and performing daily biological testing.

The position requires an accredited Sterile Processing program or 18 months of experience, with CRCST/CSPDT certification and the ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program or 18 months of Sterile Processing experience.
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current full CRCST or CSPDT certification and maintenance via CEUs.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment.
• Charge, billing, and logging of service and patient charges for the OR.
• Perform daily biological testing and participate in performance improvement projects.
