Job summary

The Central Sterile Tech at University of California, Irvine Health ensures the decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment across hospital and clinics. You may float between UCI Health locations as needed to cover coverage.

This role participates in department and system-wide performance improvement projects and supports infection control practices. Flexible to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience
• Required to float between UCI Health locations as needed
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology

Responsibilities

• The Central Sterile Tech is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department throughout the hospital and outlying clinics
• Participates on special projects and departmental and medical center-wide performance improvement projects as requested
