Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical is seeking an Instrument Sterilization Technician to join our team in Macon, GA. This role focuses on maintaining standards for set assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of instruments, ensuring accurate storage of supplies and supporting the perioperative team.

Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential as you collaborate with perioperative nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and maintain a smooth workflow in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program required.
  • In lieu of certification, prior experience as Central Service or Surgical Tech required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing instruments.
  • Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment.
  • Assists in maintaining continuous workflow and delivers superior customer service.

Education
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
  • Graduate of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program Required or
  • In Lieu of certification prior experience as a Central Service or Surgical Tech Required
Work Experience
  • In lieu of degree Prior experience as a Central Service Tech OR Surgical Tech Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • None Required
  • CCST - Certified Central Service Technician if no prior work experience Upon Hire Required or
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist if no prior work experience Upon Hire Required
